“Coincidence is logical.”
~ Johan Cruyff
Today is August 8th – not particularly special for any specific reason, but every day has potential to be special in the eyes of someone. August 8th (or July 26th on the Julian Calendar; if anyone is struggling to think of a gift to get me for my birthday, get me a 2017/18 Julian Calendar) is the 220th day of the year, and is more likely to fall on a Monday, Wednesday or Saturday than any other day of the week (coincidentally, today is a Tuesday). It is the birthday of Louis Van Gaal and Roger Federer, and the commencement day of the “Hundred Days Offensive”, a series of Allied offensives on the Western Front leading to the end of WW1.
All of these events have nothing in common. At least to me. But to someone else, these random assortment of events which I found on Wikipedia may have profound coincidental significance. Life as we know it is the most unpredictable. I can attest to this: nothing I do ever goes exactly to plan. One can never anticipate who, what or where he will end up tomorrow. Yet in spite of our oblivion to the future, the things we hold in our thought tend to come to existence. I guess what I am trying to say is, everything happens for a reason. There’s a reason why you choose to do the things you do, and a reason you meet the people you meet. As biblical as it may sound, nothing is a coincidence.
So, do not worry young grasshopper; when things aren’t going the way you may have planned, they are really happening just the way they were supposed to.
